Here we go! I want you to know that this term covers new material. During the first term, you could rely on your previous knowledge to help understand what we were learning, like Pythagorean Theorem. This term, we will continue working with the trigonometry ratios to solve problems. We will finish our study of solving for missing sides or angles of triangles using law of sines and cosines.
Next we investigate quadrilaterals, then polygons. We will learn how to find area of regular polygons. This knowledge will extend to 3 dimensional shapes and volume.
This all evolves to circles.
Shapes are important in our daily lives. Begin to look around at what you use and what you buy, what shapes catch your eye and how design is important to marketing.
Our time will fly by as spring and nice weather approaches!! Good luck!

3/14 Term is ending!
Here is one more opportunity to earn extra credit for term 3.
We are studying trigonometry. What I want you to find out is some history on right triangle trigonometry. Who is responsible for noticing the ratios?
When was the similarity relationship acknowledged?
Post your answers and what you find out on the blog and I will check this.
Why the names sine, cosine, and tangent??
What else is interesting?
